Digital Collage
My digital collages differ from my analog projects in that I have access to everything on the World Wide Web. In addition to the obvious honey holes for source materials, such as Google Images and Pinterest, I search for digitized versions of vintage magazines. Some of my favorites include Computer Design, National Geographic, and Mondo. Believing in accessible art, I use Krita, a free and open source alternative to popular photo editing programs. I distinguish my artwork from other digital art in that the only transformations I perform within the program are erasing, scaling up/down, and rotating, thereby attempting to replicate my analog methods on the computer.
